Coloring Web page and the key points of design
Coloring Site is one of the most original forms of artistic expression. Going way back to the prehistoric times with the Lascaux Caves (some of the first noted human Coloring Webpage), Coloring Web page is practiced in all cultures all over the world and has been for more than 100 years. To keep it simple, we’ll show off 19th and 20th hundred years expressions to show how you can put the elements and ideas of design to work.
The key points of design are:
- Percentage and scale
- Repetition and pattern
- Unity and harmony
Balance is one of the very most intuative and complicated design process. It is the way the artist creates a sense of equilibrium in a design, by the way the objects in the design are arranged. A couple of three major types of balance:
- Symmetrical/Formal Balance is when elements are positioned so that two halves of the look (whether vertical or horizontal) are mirrors of one another – both sides have the same weight. Its created around a central series that bisects the look into two different halves.
- Asymmetrical/Informal Balance is when elements are positioned so that there surely is an uneven distribution of weight
- Radial Balance is when elements are positioned evenly around a central point
Proportion and Scale
The juxtaposition of components of different sizes, or proportions, within the work of art helps create a sense of scale. Size can be used for multiple results – whether to demonstrate a feeling of space and depth or to help develop a dominant focal point.
A huge part of creating depth in an image, and interest in a piece, is by using multiple contrasting elements – or varying elements set side by side. This is often finished with color, form, size or surface.

Repetition and pattern
The usage of the same or a similar element repeated again and again can give a work a feeling of activity or composition. Where an element is comparable enough and repeated often enough, it can create a structure.
Unity and harmony
The mixture of similar elements creates an aesthetically pleasing overall impact. While a lot of design elements will vary, a dominant unity created by similarities in color, structure, feel or other elements makes the painting or design feel harmonious.
Translating to graphic design
Creator Bearbrick implements all of these key points in his web design for Bright Austin Interiors.

Bearbrick uses proportion and scale to set-up asymmetrical balance. Elements of different size and shape sit on a page never to mirror the other person but to balance each other out. He creates distinction in the juxtaposition of brightly colored elements against a white record.
Repetition is utilized in the setting of the circles. This forces the viewer’s eyesight to go between elements to be able to impart the information the client desires the viewer to see. At the same time, pattern is employed as a simple aspect in this group designs (in the rose structure of the “about us” button as well as the repeated lines circling other circular elements) to be able to create interest – so that the design can be simple without having to be boring.
And while the different elements of the webpage find the user’s eye at different times, the feminine style of the elements and the use of color make the site appear completely harmonious. The look has movement, depth, interest and brings the user’s eye to the main information on the web page – from the great example of an effective design.
