Coloring Webpage and the key points of design
Coloring Web page is one of the most original types of artistic expression. Going in the past to the prehistoric times with the Lascaux Caves (some of the first recorded human Coloring Page), Coloring Webpage is practiced in all cultures all over the world and has been for more than 100 years. To keep it simple, we’ll show off 19th and 20th century expressions showing ways to place the elements and principles of design to work.
The guidelines of design are:
- Proportion and scale
- Repetition and pattern
- Unity and harmony
Balance is one of the very most intuative and complicated design theory. It is the way the designer creates a sense of equilibrium in a design, by how the objects in the design are arranged. You will discover three major types of balance:
- Symmetrical/Formal Balance is when elements sit so that two halves of the design (whether vertical or horizontal) are mirrors of each other – both factors have the same weight. Its created around a central series that bisects the design into two different halves.
- Asymmetrical/Casual Balance is when elements sit so that there is an uneven circulation of weight
- Radial Balance is when elements are positioned consistently around a central point
Percentage and Scale
The juxtaposition of components of different sizes, or proportions, in a masterpiece of design helps create a sense of scale. Level can be utilized for multiple effects – whether to show a feeling of space and depth or to help create a dominant center point.
A huge part of creating depth within an image, and fascination with a piece, is to apply multiple contrasting elements – or varying elements set side by side. This is done with color, form, size or surface.

Repetition and pattern
The use of the same or a similar element repeated again and again can give a work a feeling of motion or structure. Where an factor is similar enough and repeated often enough, it can create a style.
Unity and harmony
The mixture of similar elements creates an aesthetically pleasing overall impact. While tons of design elements will vary, a dominant unity created by similarities in color, style, structure or other elements makes the painting or design feel harmonious.
Translating to graphical design
Developer Bearbrick implements all of these ideas in his web design for Bright Austin Interiors.

Bearbrick uses proportion and scale to build asymmetrical balance. Elements of different size and condition are positioned on a full page never to mirror each other but to balance each other out. He creates distinction in the juxtaposition of colorful elements against a white history.
Repetition is utilized in the placement of the circles. This forces the viewer’s eyesight to move between elements to be able to impart the info the client wants the audience to see. At the same time, pattern is used as a refined depth in this group designs (in the blossom design of the “about us” button as well as the repeated lines circling other round elements) to be able to set-up interest – so the design can be simple without having to be boring.
And while different components of the page find the user’s eyes at different times, the feminine design of the elements and the use of color make the site appear altogether harmonious. The look has activity, depth, interest and brings the user’s eyes to the main information on the webpage – from the great example of an effective design.
